Adolescents in Humanitarian Crisis

Adolescents in Humanitarian Crisis explores the unique experiences and challenges faced by adolescents affected by displacement due to conflict, disaster, or statelessness. With nearly half of the world’s displaced population under 18, these young people face disrupted education, limited employment opportunities, increased psychosocial vulnerabilities, and heightened risks of sexual and gender-based violence. Drawing on innovative mixed-methods research from countries including Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and Rwanda, the book examines adolescent capabilities across education, health and nutrition, psychosocial wellbeing, voice and agency, freedom from violence, and economic empowerment.
